Siteimprove’s Modern Slavery Act Statement

Introduction

This statement sets out Siteimprove's actions to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to its business and to put in place steps that are aimed at ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in its own business. This statement relates to actions and activities during the financial year (1st of January 2017 – 31st of December 2017)

As part of the software-industry, the organisation recognises that it has a responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking.

Siteimprove is absolutely committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in its corporate activities.

Siteimprove’s organizational structure, business and operations

Siteimprove is an international software-as-a-service company founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2003, employing 400+ in our nine offices around the world. Siteimprove transforms the way organizations manage their digital presence and delivers digital certainty for more than 5,000 customers across North America, Australia and Europe.

Our mission is to make a better web for all. Our team remains dedicated to that mission while also developing new and innovative ways to streamline the creation and management of a reliable, accessible digital presence. Our mission permeates everything we do: It is evident in the product solutions we build, the support we offer, and the professional services and education we provide.

As our primary product, the Siteimprove Intelligence Platform offers organizations complete visibility into their digital presence, streamlining the content creation process and helping to create and maintain a positive user experience. With features like Quality Assurance, Accessibility, Response, SEO and more, customers can more effectively manage the quality, credibility and impact of their online content. With Siteimprove’s Analytics Suite, organizations can define and report on relevant KPIs and use real-time data to visualize the efficacy of their digital presence.

Siteimprove’s policies

At Siteimprove we don’t tolerate any inhumane behaviour. We take steps to prevent and make sure that no modern slavery or human trafficking are taking place within our business and supply chain. We have our Global Company Principles 1-2, as a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, stating that the company should support and respect the protection of internationally declared human rights and ensure that the company does not contribute to the violation of human rights

Siteimprove operates the following policies to prevent slavery and human trafficking in its operations.

Policies within the business are authored, reviewed and processed by the Legal Department and Upper Management.

At Siteimprove employees must comply with our Code of Conduct, which makes clear to them how to act and behave with vendors and customers when representing the company, but also in the internal relationship with one another. The code of conduct must be complied with in all countries where we conduct operations.

Siteimprove follows the strictest ethnical and business standards of behaviour, regardless of leniency and local standards. Siteimprove opposes exploitive, inhumane labour practices and is committed to universal human rights.

Supplier risks assessment, due diligence and training

As a modern and global SaaS Company, Siteimprove contracts with many software suppliers internationally. This includes more specifically software providers within human resources services, finance services, marketing services, customer relationship management services etc., but of course also suppliers of hardware and office supplies for our local offices located in Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, Minneapolis, Oslo, Sydney, Toronto and Vienna.

At Siteimprove we strive to make sure that both we and our suppliers work thoroughly on minimum standards of behaviour. We expect all our suppliers to comply with international human rights and do not tolerate any exploitive, inhumane labour practices.

Through internal processes, Siteimprove ensures that when entering into contract with suppliers, the suppliers must in fact comply with our principles of appropriate behaviour in terms of recognising human rights and our intolerance of slavery and human trafficking. We ensure that the requirements are met during the entire period of our relationships with the suppliers, as we review our existing suppliers regularly.

Siteimprove undertakes due diligence processes which ensures that we are able to identify and address any adverse impact of our business as well as in our supply chain. We review our supply chain on a regular basis, assess whether there might be any risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our own practices or in our supply chain’s practices, and constantly consider how to improve our own and our suppliers’ practices with a greater degree of focus on slavery and human trafficking.

All new employees at Siteimprove are required to read and understand the company’s code of conduct and Corporate Social Responsibility report, in which our principles on slavery and human trafficking are explained. Siteimprove has a high degree of focus on a great work environment and ensures all employees are aware of our principles and policies on a regular basis.
