Our story
Entrepreneurial spirit, knowledge and growth
Siteimprove A/S was founded in Denmark in 2003 by director Morten Ebbesen, who had the idea for Siteimprove after being handed the task of checking a website for dead links by a former employer. Morten wasn’t slow to recognize the potential of setting up a system to do this, developing it into a tool and then a company, with many more quality assuring work tools soon following; being able to get ideas quickly off the ground continues to be one of Siteimprove’s basic strengths.
From Siteimprove's beginnings in 2003 in a small office in central Copenhagen with one innovative man and a couple of programmers, we're now one of the world's leading suppliers of quality assurance work tools for websites. In 2004, we started a subsidiary company in the United Kingdom, and in 2007 we entered the US market, opening an office in Minneapolis. Today, more than 75 percent of our turnover comes from the English-speaking market.
All development work takes place at our head office in Denmark, where we are strongly represented both in private firms and public organizations. Globally, we serve more than 3,000 websites and over 30,000 web editors; the actual division of our customers is currently about 250 in Denmark, 450 in England and 550 in USA.
The entrepreneurial gene is still going strong here at Siteimprove, despite our growth - and will always be a part of the business for our many customers.
