Checkpoint overview

Checkpoint overview

The Checkpoint overview gives a convenient summary of the most important characteristics of a checkpoint, as well as the current status and the most recent events.

Clicking any checkpoint name takes you to the Checkpoint Overview screen for that checkpoint.

This page displays a number of details about the current status of the checkpoint.

Check URL: This is the URL that has been set up to be monitored. The URL can be changed in the Configure menu.

Status: This is the current status of the checkpoint. This displays the time of the last event, and the time elapsed since the last event.

Last Checked: Date and time of the last check.

Next check: Date and time of the next check.

Response time: This displays the checkpoint’s average response time in the last 24 hours. Detailed results of all response time checks in the last 24 hours can be accessed in Excel or XML format further down on the screen.

Check type: This displays your current check type. The check type must be set up when the checkpoint is created. However, with HTTP/HTTPS server checks, you can switch between simple scan, content scan, and defacement scan. This can be done in the Configure menu.

Timeout: This is the time allowed for the server to respond to a SiteAlarm check. If the server does not respond within this period, it is considered DOWN, and alerting procedures will commence.

Pause: This displays any maintenance pause that has been set up in step 1 of the Configure process.

Alerted users: This displays the users of your SiteImprove account that you have set up to be alerted if an error occurs with the checkpoint. Changes to this section can be made in the Configure menu.

Users can be added and their details edited in the Account control section.

Latest events: This section displays the most recent events with the checkpoint, with the date and time, check result, HTTP codes, and response times displayed in 4 columns. For a list of HTTP error code definitions, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes.

All Checks: This section provides links to data for every check in the last 24 hours, in Excel or XML format. Click to open content in a new browser window, or right click and choose Save target as… to save the file on your computer.

Response time graph: This displays the fluctuations in response time in the last 24 hours.

The Function buttons give access to checkpoint configuration and statistics display modes.
