SiteAlarm provides a range of methods to monitor servers. This is an overview of the available monitoring methods.
- Simple server monitoring:
- Checks whether an HTTP or HTTPS server provides the correct server response.
- Monitoring of E-mail servers:
- Checks whether POP3 and SMTP servers provide the correct server response.
- Content scanning:
- Checks for the presence of specific content on the page and provides an alert if this is not the case. Conversely, SiteAlarm can also provide an alert if the content does appear on the page. This is useful for monitoring for known error messages.
- Monitoring file servers:
- Checks whether FTP servers provide the correct server response.
- Monitoring of web forms:
- Checks whether web form submission provides the correct response when values are posted to the server.
- Monitoring password protected pages:
- Checks whether pages that are protected by HTTP Basic Authentication provides the correct response.
